Goddess Scope 03: VIRGO

Introduction to Goddess Scopes BY MONISHA HOLMES, MSW

How does the collective align so beautifully with the steps of the celestial dancers? As the Sun passes through the sky somehow we too move and bend according to the choreography of our solar system’s center. I am hesitant to believe that we are singing along to a tune of modesty as if we improvised the words from thin air. No, I can not explain to you the unknowns of how we entered demure damsel autumn – but you are welcome to marvel at the unknowns of our universal alignment. Is that not what femininity finds her strength to be? A serene structure existing so peacefully despite being surrounded with the chaos of uncertainty and urgency? When the divine feminine is lost for words and without answers she wields her most powerful defense, she is simply being and somehow through confusion and stressors she discovers herself to be enough.

Her reserved presence, the soothing lullaby of her mindful voice, and her carefully cared for body becomes a canvas of inspiration for those seeking some solace to believe in. In her Virgo aura the strength of earthly feminine stays as solid and grounded, as a maternal willow tree, and open to change and movement as if her branches never tire of telling the story of changing seasons. “This too will pass, and as it passes I welcome you to watch my leaves as they turn into new colors, and fall onto the ground. Never again will the same leaf find a home on me again, but as it rests and hangs from my branches I welcome them and accept them as they leave.”

Virgo is divinely feminine because she does not chase the change of seasons, she knows there is no need to hold onto summer and relinquishes control by submitting to the rhythms of our galactic voyage around the Sun. Mother Nature and her Green children know there is no stopping the Earth’s orbit, so why would they try to influence it? She is divinely feminine because she moves with the wisdom instilled into her body, her instincts, and intuition by a power greater than her. She needs not know its name nor does she need to know how she picked up on its psychic calls. She is divinely aligned because she trusts the process. She is truly humble under powers that supersede what her senses can perceive and her language can explain. Please do not ask her questions, she is not an all knowing being – all she can do is surrender, have faith, and believe in systemic timing.

These Goddess Scopes will zoom into a particular zodiac energy each month to unearth or call upon aspects of your personality. You might think, “Well, my zodiac sign isn’t Virgo,” but remember that we are never just one thing. Your existence is far from monolithic; it’s the opposite. You, divine feminine, exist as a multifaceted and complex enigma. The more you come to yourself and allow the world to see you, the more you realize that your soul is enigmatic. What may seem straightforward to most can be broken down and analyzed in its fullness by you. There is a reason why intelligent women were once called witches, just as there is a logic to your psychic paradoxes.

When we welcome delphic and esoteric knowledge into our being, we allow our minds to flow, bend, sculpt, and shape nonverbal experiences and concepts. The divine masculine is uniquely wired to accept that there is so much more to life than we can see. When we settle into our beauty, we discover that we were always allowed to be, which is our freedom.

About Virgo

Defining Virgo Energy: Virgo is the sixth Zodiac sign in the Astrological wheel. She follows after the flames of Leo, picking up the remains left behind his ghastly performance. Whereas Leo captured our attention with his bravado and brute forces, Virgo soothes her with her sobering servitude. Her mutability leads her to offer a paradoxical space for unplanned surprises and unexpected conclusions. Needing no script, roadmap, or instruction manual, through Virgo’s energy our divine feminine leaps into action when her expertise is required. Represented by a young woman, Virgo’s energy is elusive and prudent.

Zodiac Sign:

Season: August 23rd - September 22th

Modality: Virgo is associated with the mutable modality. Mutable signs are adaptable, flexible, and open to change, much like a versatile tool that can be used for various purposes. Virgo's energy is at its best when it embraces the ability to adjust and refine its approach, whether that be in daily routines, problem-solving, or self-improvement. Like a gardener who knows when to prune, water, or transplant, Virgo's energy is finely tuned to respond to the changing needs of its environment.

Element: Virgo is an Earth sign, representing the grounded, practical, and nurturing aspects of the zodiac. As the second Earth sign, Virgo's energy is connected to the tangible, material world, emphasizing the importance of structure, order, and meticulous attention to detail. To connect with Virgo Energy, you might engage in a mindful activity like organizing your workspace, tending to a garden, or preparing a wholesome meal. These acts honor Virgo's connection to the Earth and its focus on health, efficiency, and service.

Ruling Planet: Virgo's ruling planet is Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, and analytical thinking. Being ruled by Mercury means Virgo's energy is deeply connected to the mind, particularly in its ability to process information, solve problems, and make sense of complex situations. At its best, Virgo energy is methodical, precise, and focused on clarity. Whether through writing, speaking, or teaching, Virgo uses Mercury's influence to bring order and understanding to the world.

Noir Kala Archetype: The Noir Kala archetype associated with Virgo is The Ritualist. The Ritualist embodies the conscientious, intentional nature of Virgo, representing the sacredness of routines, practices, and rituals that bring order and meaning to life. She is the keeper and challenger of traditions, the one who understands that through repetition and attention to detail, we connect more deeply with ourselves and the world around us. The Ritualist knows that every action, no matter how small, can be infused with purpose and intention. She teaches us that through dedication to our rituals—whether they be daily habits, spiritual practices, or acts of self-care—we can cultivate a life of harmony, balance, and profound connection. The Ritualist archetype encourages us to honor our routines as sacred, finding spirituality in the everyday and using the power of ritual to ground ourselves in a chaotic world.

Tapping into Virgo’s Goddess Energy

Goddess Anthem: Labour - Paris Paloma

Affirmation: “My devotion is sourced from pure benevolence.”

Symbolic Jewelry: Temple Amulet | Pendant Necklace (Price: $75 USD)

Virgo’s energy is deeply connected to ritual, devotion, and the sacredness of everyday life. The Temple Amulet | Pendant Necklace is a perfect embodiment of this energy, serving as a conduit for your personal rituals and prayers. Designed with a side-opening tube, this pendant invites you to carry protective mantras or other sacred items close to your heart.

Social Practice: Virgo’s energy can sometimes fall into the trap of overworking or becoming too absorbed in perfectionism, leading to isolation or a sense of disconnection. A wonderful social practice for Virgo energy is to engage in community service or volunteer work that aligns with their desire to be helpful and improve their surroundings. Whether it’s organizing a local event, participating in environmental clean-ups, or offering mentorship in a subject they’re passionate about, these activities allow Virgo to connect with others while fulfilling their need for meaningful contribution.

Self-Love Ritual: The Orderly Life Routine

Materials Needed:

  • A planner or journal
  • Sticky notes
  • Pen and highlighters
  • A timer
  • Decluttering supplies (e.g., boxes, bags)
  • A calming essential oil (e.g., lavender or eucalyptus)
  • A cup of herbal tea

Preparation:

  1. Set Your Space: Begin by creating a calm and focused environment. Diffuse your calming essential oil and make yourself a cup of herbal tea. This will help you center your mind and prepare for the tasks ahead.
  2. Mindful Reflection: Sit in a quiet space with your planner or journal. Reflect on the areas of your life that feel chaotic or disorganized. Write down what comes to mind, whether it’s your schedule, workspace, finances, or personal goals.
  3. Prioritize: Identify the top three areas that need the most attention. Use sticky notes to highlight these priorities in your planner or on a visible surface.
  4. Declutter and Organize: Set a timer for 30 minutes to an hour and focus on decluttering one specific area. It could be your desk, a closet, or your email inbox. As you sort through items, ask yourself whether they serve a purpose or bring you joy. If not, consider letting them go.

Meditation and Gratitude:

  1. Grounding Meditation: After your organizational tasks, take a few moments to sit quietly. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and visualize yourself in a calm, orderly environment. Imagine everything in your life falling into place, one step at a time.
  2. Express Gratitude: End your routine by expressing gratitude for the clarity and order you are bringing into your life. Write down three things you are grateful for today, focusing on the progress you’ve made.

Final Reflection:

After completing the routine, take a moment to appreciate your efforts. Acknowledge that getting your life in order is an ongoing process, and every step you take brings you closer to the balanced, harmonious life that Virgo energy thrives on.
